About This Spin Wheel

I’d been staring at the same list for days. It was just a simple thing, picking a few names for a small project, but my brain had turned it into this impossible knot. The tabs stayed open, the draft email unsent.

That feeling of being stuck

It’s not that the options were bad. They were all fine, perfectly reasonable. But the act of deciding, of being the one to point and say ‘you’, felt like it carried this weird weight. I’d add someone, then second-guess, then take them off again. My cart was full of other things, too. Books I’d saved for later, a pair of shoes I kept almost buying. It was the same energy. A small, quiet exhaustion from having to be the chooser all the time.

Letting something else decide

I finally copied all the names into the wheel. It felt a little silly, honestly. Like admitting defeat over something so minor. But there was also this immediate sense of relief, just in the action of handing it off.I gave it a spin. The names blurred together for a second, a colorful mess, before it slowed and landed. And just like that, it was done. The decision was made, and it wasn’t mine. The mental space it had been occupying just… cleared.

What was left behind

It wasn’t about the perfect team. It was about being free from the loop of my own hesitation.

A different kind of quiet

The silence after felt productive, not anxious. The energy I’d spent on choosing was now just gone.
