Stuck alone, spinning a number

It was one of those evenings where the silence felt a bit too loud. I was just sitting there, scrolling through the same few options on my screen, and nothing felt right. The space between deciding felt longer than it should have.

The weight of a small choice

It wasn't about anything important, really. Just what to watch, or maybe what to order for dinner. But for some reason, my brain just wouldn't land on one. It was like being stuck in a hallway with several identical doors.I remember the feeling of my thumb hovering over the screen. The little cursor blinking, waiting for an input I couldn't give. It's funny how the smallest decisions can sometimes feel the heaviest when you're the only one in the room.

Letting the wheel decide

So I opened up a random number generator instead. It felt like a small act of surrender, handing the reins over to nothing in particular. There was a weird relief in not having to be the one to choose for a second.The number that came up didn't feel like a revelation. It was just a number. But it was a direction, and that was all I needed. It broke the loop I was in, the one where I'd cycle through the same three thoughts.
