A quiet spin to settle my mind

It was one of those afternoons where my notes were a blur, and my brain felt like static. I knew I needed to study, but the sheer volume of it all just made me freeze. My heart was doing that fluttery thing it does when I'm about to be called on, even though I was alone at my desk.

The weight of choosing

Staring at the list of chapters felt like standing at the edge of a cliff. If I picked the wrong one, I’d waste time. If I picked the ‘hard’ one, I’d just stare at it in panic. My fingers were actually a bit shaky just thinking about it. The topic wasn't a monster I had chosen to fight; it was just my assignment for the next hour.

With the ‘what’ settled, my mind could finally turn to the ‘how’. The energy I’d used on anxiety was freed up for the actual work.
