Letting the silence settle

For a long time, we just sat there. Someone was scrolling, someone else was staring at the ceiling. I put my phone down on the coffee table, screen facing down, and didn't pick it up again. The list got a little ridiculous

We put "attempt to make cookies from that one weird recipe" right next to "order the greasiest pizza in town." The point wasn't the activity itself. The point was that we'd do it together, without overthinking it.
